Somedays just ask myself why they are so many challenges in life, most of the time I have the answer: because the challenges makes life exciting and interesting.

I'm living one of the biggest challenge in my life: to make my life in the United States following the rules and keeping a legal status in this land. I have so much to share, achievements, friends, family, relationship, immigration process, happiness and sadness, American culture, football season.

First things first, let me introduce myself: Analu is my birthday name, but most of the people call me "Ana" (my family and closest friends call me "Nah", short name for "Nalu". They do not call me Ana, because that's my mom's name). I was born in a small town called Diamante do Norte, Parana state in Brazil and raised in Piracicaba, in São Paulo state. I am the oldest daughter of three. My mom (Ana Maria) lives in Piracicaba with my two sisters Alana (middle) and Alida (youngest), their 5 dogs Anita (14 y), Meg (12y), Potter (8y), Chico (4y), Chiara (1y). My dad past away in 2002.

When I was around 9-10yo I was playing in a neighbor house when we stoped to watch a movie. The movie was in English and her mom had the subtitle on. My friend and I were trying to read but that was really fast and missed a phrase, and my friend's mom (who was listening) translated to us. I was in shock, how did she know what they were talking about if she wasn't reading? After that day I decided one day I'll speak English fluently and won't need to read the subtitles.

Well I don't remember exactly the year, but one day I asked my parents if I could learn English, and they agreed to pay an English school. I was the only kid in the class, after some weeks the school said to my parents that I was too young to that class, and as soon as they open a class for kids they will get in touch (that was what my dad said to me, if is true I don't know haha).

The most important thing was that I loved to learn English. I was pretty sure that one day I'll be able to read, listen, speak, and write in English.

And this is how my American dream started.

This blog is a way to help me to go through the immigration process to make my dream come true.

America: the land of free and home of the brave.

Mission Bay, San Diego, CA

That's all for today Braves! Special thanks to God, that always kept this dream alive in my life!

Take care guys!

Ana
